Scholarly or Research
Paper Presentation (50 minutes): Presentation of a single paper
or research study in which the authors share the methodology and results of
their research. This may be a research report, a case study, a
methodological presentation, or a theoretical or conceptual paper. The
proposal must describe research that is substantially underway.
Panel Discussions (50 or 100 minutes):
The presentation of a single topic that requires the participation of
several discussants for adequate coverage. The proposal abstract should
describe the topic or major points to be made or debated by the panelists. It
should also describe how the differing perspectives of each of the proposed
panelists would contribute to the discussion.
Demonstrations (50 minutes): The demonstration of an application of a particularly useful tool for institutional research, policy analysis, assessment, or planning. The emphasis is in the demonstration of the tool rather than the discussion of a particular application. The proposal should describe the expected audience
background, knowledge, or experience needed to appreciate the tool.
Table Topics (50
minutes): Roundtables offer an opportunity for a convener to
give a brief overview of a relevant topic that leads to an engaged and lively
discussion. A proposal should include a description of the topic and a
convener's relevant experience and expertise.
